Cold Brew Communicology

Speech therapy services for children and teens in California

Founded in 2026, Cold Brew Communicology provides speech and language services in-home, in the community, and via teletherapy. Our goal is to provide family-centered services to individuals from birth to 21.

Neuroaffirming care is at the core of what we do. This means that neurological differences such as autism, ADHD, etc. are treated as natural brain differences and not deficits to be cured. While each session will work towards improving your child’s communication skills, it will be at their pace and comfort level. Our ultimate goal at Cold Brew Communicology is to help your child reach their potential while maintaining acceptance of all forms of communication.

Does my child need speech therapy?

If your child:

  • Becomes easily frustrated because they are unable to communicate their wants/needs

  • Are not easily understood by others

  • Uses incorrect grammar for their age

  • Demonstrates difficulty with answering basic questions about their day

  • Has a hard time with following directions

  • Cannot engage in a much wanted back and forth conversation with others

Then…

Your child may benefit from a speech and language evaluation!

Commonly asked questions about speech therapy:

  1. What ages do you work with?

Answer: We specialize in children, teens, and adolescents, ages 0-21

  2. What does a speech therapy session look like?

Answer: It depends! Sometimes sessions are play-based. Other times, they may incorporate worksheets or books. Lesson plans and materials used are individually tailored to your child’s goals and interests

  3. My child does not speak. How do I know whether they need speech therapy or are just a “late talker?”

Answer: We expect children to say their first words at one year old, combine words between 18-24 months old, and use three word phrases by three years old. If you are concerned about your child’s language, it never hurts to get them assessed to be sure!

  4. Does learning multiple languages negatively impact language development?

Answer: Research shows that it does not! It’s normal for children to mix up languages as they learn. However, it will NOT cause a speech or language delay!

  5. Can parents sit in on speech therapy sessions?

    Answer: Absolutely!
